The Practically Complete Traveler
TRAVEL HERE AND THERE by Anita Zelman
Travel lovers and couch potatoes alike will be inspired to get up and go as they relish Anita Zelman's Travel Here and There. Zelman gets to the heart of the places she's visited--people, food, terrain, climate, insects, housing, costumes, and more. She conveys, all at once, the excitement of travel and its practical ins and outs.
Zelman's humorous and informative writing whisks us all around the globe. We are left breathless from the exotic places we've just been to, and we eagerly anticipate our own future travel plans. Inside the U.S. we're off to Harlem, the Pentagon, Colonial Williamsburg, and Oahu, where we're shown the historic and natural sights with the warmth and insight of a hometown Oahu girl (Zelman lived there). Next we're off to Scotland, England, Norway, China, Italy, and other places throughout the world--some well traveled, others remote and unfamiliar.
Anita Zelman tells us what and what not to do, and how and how not to do it, and we get first-hand experience from a seasoned adventurer. We also find out about pretrip research, necessary purchases and those to be avoided, and hot resources for information and supplies. Travel Here and There is traveling at its best, with all the pleasures, mysteries, and mishaps that make up a journey for any inquisitive and eager traveler.
