PICTURE THIS...
"A truly original book...a major treat!" --Neil Simon.
Every picture tells a story, but sometimes it takes a great storyteller to figure out what the picture is all about. William Steinkellner is a great storyteller, an award-winning TV writer whose credits include the top comedy shows of the 1990s. He's also a passionate delitiologist. That means he's nuts about picture postcards, the nuttier the better. He's been collecting postcards for years, and for years he's been solving their mysteries and writing their stories.
Bill Steinkellner wrote his first postcard story over fifteen years ago, hoping to impress and woo the woman he loved. It worked: Bill and Cheri Steinkellner have been partners (and married) ever since. And Bill has been writing postcard stories--hundreds and hundreds of them--ever since, often to celebrate important occasions like the birth of a child, more often just to celebrate the goofiness or the beauty or the sadness of the card in his hand. The stories and pictures are perfect matches, be they satirical, poignant, irreverent, suspenseful, or hilarious.
Postcards from the Moon presents ninety of Steinkellner's miniature masterpieces, chosen by the author and his wife and his publishers from over a thousand in his collection. Here you'll find pictures of prom queens, beauty queens, bathing beauties, bathing babies, the Baby Jesus, dance classes, family reunions, lamp jumpers (lamp jumpers?), bank robbers, space aliens, nuns, dogs, barbers, saints....
Well, have a look. There's no way to describe these postcards in words. Unless you're William Steinkellner.
