A CHILDHOOD ADVENTURE ON THE HIGH SEAS
In the early 1920s, Molly May, a girl of six, is taken out of an orphanage in England and sent across the Atlantic on the luxury liner Olympic (sister ship to the Titanic) to join her Aunt Georgie and Uncle Ed in South Dakota.
Traveling alone might be a frightening experience for some little girls, but Molly May is a resourceful and self-confident child with a sense of adventure who makes friends easily and stands up for herself when she need to. During the voyage she is accused of theft, she discovers and reveals the real thief, she saves an elderly fellow passenger from exposure, and is honored by the captain's respect, the lift steward's friendship, and the devotion of a new best friend, a girl her age.
Molly May goes through immigration in New York's Ellis Island and boards a train heading west, into her future.
This charmingly illustrated real-life adventure will appeal to fans of Love from Your Friend Hannah.
